We had a great stay

We had a great stay at Miguel''s villa. It is beautiful here. The villa was clean and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked. The pool gets the sun all day. The views are incredible. Miguel was very helpful and friendly and easy to get in touch with. You do need a car I think, as public transport wasn't great, but it is only a half hour drive into Porto if you have one and not far from some beautiful fluvial beaches and the national park. We had a great stay and will be happy to come stay again.

Fantastic family house and owner

We had a fantastic holiday. There were 11 of us and the house was perfect with its large open plan areas, huge games room, beautiful pool, amazing views and excellent bbq. Although in a very quiet rural area you could walk to a little local cafe and supermarket in 5 mins with bigger supermarkets a 10min drive away. On top of this the owner Miguel was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had even booking a restaurant for us on one occasion. In addition. I’d also strongly recommend the boat trip with his brother Jorge in Porto, a real highlight of the holiday. We would definitely come back

A wonderful house for great holidays!

Casa Amarela is a really spacious house with a big pool and a fascinating garden. We loved to spent the time in the pool or in the room with different games (table tennis, tabletop football and pool billard). The house was very well equipped and there were also enough dishes, glasses and cutlery for many people. The owner, Oscar, and his son Miguel were really fantastic - they welcomed us very kindly and were always interested in making our stay as comfortable as possible. They gave us good recommendations - which places to visit or what kind of activities were offered around the area. When there was the need for anything, Oscar and Miguel helped right away: one sunshade broke down - the next day we got a brand new one. We already look forward to spent another holiday at Casa Amarela.

We had an amazing stay

We had an amazing stay at Miguel''s villa. The villa offers lots of space, even on rainy days. In the basement there is a ping pong table, foosball and pool table. The six bedrooms are distributed on two floors, have air conditioning and four of them have their own bathroom. The two bedrooms on the top floor share a bath. The pool is filled with salt water, has a diving board and sunbeds are distributed at the edge. Miguel was always within easy reach, gave us tips for the area and made every additional wish (e.g. earlier check-in) possible for us. A great host! You can drive to Porto in about 30 minutes, but there are also good restaurants and shopping options nearby. We can fully recommend the place: it was clean, spacious and just beautiful!

Wonderful Holiday

There were ten of us staying at the villa and we had a fantastic week. The villa is beautiful, set in stunning grounds and with a lovely swimming pool. All the rooms were attractive and had air con and the bathrooms clean and well equipped. We had several barbecues and there were different areas for sitting dependent on whether you wanted sun or shade. The grown up kids really enjoyed the games room which is huge and played table football , pool and table tennis. Large supermarket only fifteen minutes away and Porto town about forty minutes to drive to. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone visiting the Porto region

Portuguese palace

There were 6 adults and 8 children staying here for a week and it was fabulous . Oscar and Miguel were fantastic hosts and looked after us so well. The house is excellent and the little village nearby is quaint. Penafiel is a bigger town, about 15 minutes away. This is a terrific place to stay for a large group , highly recommended .

                        Amazing

Well where do we start? The owner, Oscar, and his son, Miquel, were fantastic. We were met at the local Supermarket on arrival by Miquel; he then took part of our party in his car (at least one car is essential due to the location) to the Villa after they had been dropped off at the agreed meeting point by taxi. The villa itself was even better than we expected - the pictures do not do it justice. We were a party of 10 so had plenty of room in what is a really spacious villa, with everything you could wish for if you are looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay. The villa itself is approx. 3 miles from the nearest town of Penafiel and to be honest, apart from several runs to the local supermarket, we could have remained in the villa and its wonderful grounds for the whole week. Three days in to our break, the dishwasher broke down and within 24hrs it was renewed. In addition to that, we were given approx. 10 bottles of white wine that the owner had produced himself - a very generous gift for being without a dishwasher for a day (and an excellent wine at that). Our party consisted of 3 generations, and the villa and its wonderful pool catered for all and made for an extremely successful week. We have never holidayed in the same place twice, but will definitely consider returning at some point in future years.

A little bit of Heaven.

I booked this holiday over 12 months in advance and then worried if i had got it right-------.Boy did I, What a property.!!!! The photo's on the website do not do it justice.The whole farmhouse-kitchen,lounge, air conditioned bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms were clean and had everything you could need. Add a super pool,a very large games room and a beautiful and peaceful location with 2 BBQ area's-what more could you want.? It is a bit off the the beaten track so a car is a good idea to do the shopping. 9 adults and 5 children were on this holiday and not one complaint. The owners welcomed us and were there if you needed any information. Would I recommend it, yes without hesitation. Wonderful Serene Family Holiday

We made out booking online from Australia having never visited Portugal before and I must say, much to our relief, we could not have made a better choice! We had an absolutely wonderful time here, the property offers everything you could want from ample accommodation, plenty of activities for the kids and space to stretch there legs and enjoy the outdoors! The owners of the property could not have been more accommodating and helpful both in person and with the information they provided about the local area! We loved the secluded and private nature of the home that also had excellent proximity to shopping and restaurants as well as access to Oporto for day trips. The kids loved the fruit bush's and tree's and spent hours foraging for figs, apples, grapes and berries. I could not speak more highly of the property for families and for groups of friends there are so many positives it is impossible to list them all and nothing to criticise... hopefully we will go back one day!!

Stunning Holiday rental Villa (30 minutes from Porto by car or you can take the train 1.4 km walking distance from the villa) with private pool - Registration Number: 14304/AL- spacious holiday villa that can accommodate a large group, private yet without being isolated. Shops nearby. Glorious views, superb facilities.
The villa has air Conditioning in all the house
Notes on accommodation:
- Peaceful village location with superb views
- Spacious Villa fully eqquiped with Private pool, Veranda, barbecues, Internet, Games room
- 6 x 12 meter swimming POOL has a diving board
- Extensive grounds with lawned areas, mature fruit trees, and a small river running through the bottom of the property
- Extremely large GAMES ROOM with table tennis, pool table and table football.
- LOCAL TENNIS COURT, basketball and football pitch just 5 minutes walk, free and available at all times
- The city of PORTO, with its fascinating wine lodges is only 30 minutes drive, or take a train - they are very inexpensive
- Nearest golf course is 25 minutes drive, close to Amarante

- If you want it is possible to get a cooker lady to cook Portuguese typical dishes
Outside:
- The lower level has a traditional Portuguese oven, plus large bbq.
- Plentiful outside furniture on the veranda and around the pool, including sun umbrella's.
The 6 x 12 meter swimming pool has a diving board at the deep end, which is 2 meters deep. Shallow end being just over a meter in depth. The pool area has sunshine from morning until night.
- The large front veranda makes a pleasant venue for drinks, eating, or simply relaxing and enjoying the views into the valley, alternately to keep an eye on those in the pool. Parking and turning space for several vehicles, with lockable gate.
- Because of the size of the grounds there are many places of interest to explore, or just sit under one of the many TREES .

- Local football pitch just 5 minutes walk, free and available the most of the time.
- There is a very good mini-supermarket 2 minutes drive away, or a short walk.
